Summary

This 1:60 scale model of the Ariane 4 (44LP) is based on Mission V121 (September 25, 1999), which launched the TELSTAR 7 satellite into a super-synchronous transfer orbit (200–60,000 km). The model stands 94 cm tall and consists of 105 parts, which can be disassembled into 14 sections. All components were 3D printed using PLA, allowing for precise detailing and an accurate representation of the original rocket.

Purpose

This project was inspired by my long-standing fascination with space exploration and rocket engineering. The Ariane 4, as an iconic European launch vehicle, was a fitting subject for this model. At the same time, the model was created as a unique birthday gift for someone who shares an interest in space, giving the project both a personal and practical purpose.

3D-printing

All parts of this model were 3D printed using PLA on an Creality Ender 3 V3 SE. Throughout the process, I continuously adjusted the print settings for each individual component to achieve the best possible quality and accuracy. This required careful tuning of parameters such as layer height, speed, and support structures, ensuring that each part printed correctly and fit together as intended.
